Training and Documentation for Operations

Speakers: Joe Schott, Vice President and Executive Managing Director - Walt Disney Attractions Japan
In this session, attendees will learn how technology can increase efficiency in training without compromising quality and consistency. Mr. Schott also will show that higher quality training improves park operations and how to use training to update documentation and procedures to reflect a dedication to industry standards.
Leadership Luncheon: Resort Development in Asia
Time: 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
Speaker: Darrell Metzger, CEO, Sentosa Leisure Group
Darrell Metzger will bring his years of leadership in the Asian attractions industry to this session on resort development in the region. Enjoy a networking luncheon followed by a keynote presentation by Mr. Metzger on current development projects that impact the growth and future of the Asian attractions and resort industries. Topics will include the development of casinos in Asia and the Middle East, the challenges of raising capital, and some of the regional differences and considerations for developers.
Safety Operations Overview

Speaker: Greg Hale, Chief Safety Office, Walt Disney World Resort
This session will present an overview of basic operations and best practices for running a park safely. Mr. Hale will present a complete overview of the fundamentals to safe facility operations in the Attractions Industry. This session will include details about regulation legislation in the US and how this is relevant to the Asian market. This will include details about common requirements, incident reporting procedures and acquisition of permits.
Case Study in Crisis Management
Time: 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM
Speaker: Courtney Simmons, President, Simmons Associates
Ms. Simmons will outline a range of crisis management procedures used in different parks and present a case study dealing with an actual incident. As crisis management is a daily issue for all facility operators, this session will provide a practical approach to understanding best practices in addressing crisis management as it relates to guests, staff and the media.

Safety in Ride Design, Standards and Testing

This presentation will offer a foundation on the technical aspects and standards of ride design. Topics will include implementing design standards and testing for safety. Mr. Seay will also discuss the details of ride specifications as it relates to standards and testing.
Safe Operations for Small Parks and Attractions Operators

Speaker: Mario Mamon, President and Chairman, Enchanted Kingdom
Mario Mamon will outline the vital components for safe operations training for family entertainment centers, waterparks and other small parks from an operations perspective. Mr. Mamon will discuss the specifics regarding safety check lists and staff orientation, training and dealing with emergencies.
